Assessment and Therapy

MY PASSION: HELPING PEOPLE THRIVE

Persistent pain?

Brain fog?

Fatigue?

Insomnia?

Diabetes?

Then you've come to the right place.

I provide psychological assessment and therapy online and in person for adults with physical health difficulties. With a personal history of low back pain and arthritis not only do I understand conditions such as these and how to manage them to achieve the most out of life, but I also get what it is like to live with something that affects every part of your life.

Currently I run my practice on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Therapies I offer

Initial, no obligation telephone call (approx. 15 minutes)

If you would like an initial no-obligation telephone call, go to my 'Contact Me' page and complete and submit the form.  I will contact you to arrange a time for us to have a brief chat about the challenges you are facing and what support may help you bring about the changes you wish to make.

Psychological assessment

The initial psychological assessment enables us to establish a joint understanding of the problem(s), how they have developed, what is maintaining them in the here and now and how they are getting in the way of how you want your life to be.  We will also talk about you and your life more generally.  We will discuss and agree what approach may be most appropriate for you to meet the goals you have identified for therapy and how many sessions may be needed so you can make an informed decision about how to proceed.

Psychological therapy

Psychological therapy sessions usually last 50 minutes and take place at the same time and day to offer consistency and so you can rely on that time being protected for you. Therapy sessions combine the expertise you bring from your life and experiences and my knowledge of psychological theory to help you understand them and how they are impacting on your life now. Sessions are active and collaborative enabling us to work together to help you identify and practice implementing tools to overcome your life challenges. To maximise the benefits of therapy we will identify ways that you can apply the learning into your daily life in between our sessions through the use of different psychological exercises.

Fees

  • Initial, no obligation short telephone call (approx. 15 minutes) - free of charge

  • Psychological therapy sessions - self-funded (50 minutes) - £115

  • Psychological assessment -self-funded (up to 120 minutes) - £190

Payment of Fees (self-funding clients)

Payment is to be made using bank transfer of an equivalent price in UK pounds within 24 hours of arranging your session to secure your appointment with me. This avoids us having to use any of our therapy session time to do this.

Payment of Fees (through medical insurance)

I am a registered provider with BUPA, AXA, VitalityHealth, Aviva, and WPA.  Please contact me if yours isn't listed here as some insurance companies do not register a provider until they are working with a client who has an insurance policy with them. Please note, if you are paying for sessions through an insurance company the fee may vary so please liaise directly with your provider for details.

My fees cover the cost of professional indemnity insurance, my own professional clinical supervision, my preparation time and the consultation.

Reports

If you require any written reports these will incur an additional fee which will be dependent on the length of time the report takes to complete (my hourly therapy session rate of £115 will be charged). The fee will be discussed and agreed with you in advance. Reports are most valid when completed immediately following my input.

Whilst working at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in 2018 I was privileged to be nominated by patients for a Patient Choice Award for compassionate care.
